Please note that the above terms are for reference purposes only. No two people have the same swing mechanics and therefore should not be taught alike. Some of the terms may be misleading. Ex. "squash the bug". This is a term describing hip rotation, NOT the back foot. You get power from your hips and their exploding, not your foot.
Hitting Drills Needed to Better My Swing:
Tee work
Flip drill / side toss drill
Soft-toss drill
One-knee swing isolation
Bottom / lead hand isolation drill
Top hand isolation drill
Ball at front hip drill
Hit from the launch position
Throw back, throw through drill
Walk through drill
Machine or live batting practice
Please note that the above drills are for reference purposes only. No two people have the same swing mechanics and therefore should not be taught alike. Some of the terms may be misleading. Ex. "Ball at front hip drill". This drill is used to teach a hitter the contact point of a pitch located inside. These are fantastic drills, but they must be done correctly and for the right reasons. Also, most of the above drills are explained on the Terms and Drills Page.
